Immoral Morons in Charge of National Security and Their Babies

I thought, mistakenly, that if the West was at war with terror, and we are, we should have the best and smartest people in charge of security. So, when I read about President Bush's enthusiasm for Bernard Kerik, and his nomination as head of American security, I was all prepared for some excellent credentials. Instead, I read that Bernard Kerik had some equivalency degree for high school. Okay, to deal with the prisons in New York City, you need someone like Bernard Kerik (if you're desperate), but national security? Hey, but what's this? Bernard Kerik has a Moslem wife from Syria? Of course, only Daniel Pipes would bring that up. The rest of us don't care, we are too terrified to be called "bigot." However, the media did talk about Mr. Kerik's friends in the mob, some went so far as to mention his  baby out of wedlock.

Of course, our colleagues in Britain also have their problems with Homeland Security. Poor, blind Daivd Blunkett, Home Secretary and right hand of Prime Minister Tony Blair, resigned over a favor he did for his lover. It seems he asked for the nanny of his lover to get preferential approval.

Let's take a look at Mr. Blunkett, and the scandals arising from his odious deeds. Let us focus, for our purposes, not on his sins, but on his obvious stupidity. After all, if you have no brains, how can you be in charge of Homeland Security?

Mr. Blunkett had an affair with a married woman, an American magazine publisher. The two of them obviously never heard of safe sex, and a baby was born. It seems another one is on the way. However, it seems that the lovely lady in this story found somebody else to sleep with, and poor Mr. Blunkett wanted to visit with his son. He sued in court, and made a scandal.

Next, Mr. Blunkett gave an interview for a book in which he humiliated the senior members of the Blair cabinet, including Mr. Blair. Now, that is the kind of person we want to run Homeland Security. He has no fear.

Kerik and Blunkett, a dumber team doesn't exist. But who is the real dumbell? It is the voter, who lets people of the most questionable intelligence and even morality into the highest positions in government.

Speaking of security, one of the great rules in hiring someone for a security position is to make sure he cannot be blackmailed. Can we imagine hiring Kerik and Blunkett for the senior security position in the country? People like this have scandals on every block, and are ripe for blackmail.

Maybe we should realize just how bad it is, when our safety is placed into the hands of immoral morons.

And let us not forget the real tragedy. I pity the born child and unborn child of Mr. Plunkett. Here is a child coming into the world with a mother even more immoral and possibly dumber than his father. Here is a woman, a magazine publisher, who sees nothing wrong in sleeping here and there and sprouting with children who will never understand. Such a happy family, such a wonderful environment to produce children.

Why don't they talk about the children? Isn't ruining the lives of babies also a scandal?
