Why Islam Refuses the West

            In the January 27 New York Times, historian Paul Kennedy discusses Middle East guru Bernard Lewis's newest book, "What Went Wrong? Between Islam and the West. Lewis explains that when a tidal wave of American and Western scientific, social and cultural ideas spread across the globe, the Moslems divided on how to deal with it. Moderates wanted accommodation without violating basic Islam, but the conservatives felt that Western ideas were poison, and had to be resisted vociferously. This split divided the Moslem world, and provided hate and violence against the West. Kennedy ends his review by agreeing with the final passage in Lewis's book, that it is all up to the Moslems, and that the West can do nothing to change the situation.

            This is not true. The truth cannot be told by Bernard Lewis or Paul Kennedy or any secular scholar, because the whole story is one that tells of the problems in Western social and cultural ideas. Western society is not just freedom for women; it is destruction of women, turning women from marriage to work, and from hating men to lesbianism. Western society is not just about emancipating people from their elders, it is teaching children to resist and turn against their parents. Western society is not just about toleration, it calls anyone who disagrees with the Gay Lobby is hissed as a "homophobe." Western society is not just about protecting the individual. It allowed the Gay Lobby to create the HIV/AIDS epidemic that could have been easily stopped if the two diseases were treated like such and not as a civil right. Western society brims with radical social and family ideas that utterly ruin the natural harmony and rhythm of life. Western society prides itself on protecting children, yet it is the only country in the world where children , from fine families with everything in the world, regularly murder other children in public schools.

            Why then do only the Moslems resist it? Why do we not find entire countries barring American and Western cultural and social poisons? The answer is that no country can survive with a reasonable economic standard unless it submits to the dictates of the West. Islam has resisted the West precisely because it accepts mass misery for its peoples. Other countries do not have the religious and social backbone to resist. Until the West realizes that it is a poison socially and culturally, it will not be able to deal with the one block in the world that resists those poisons.

            It is true that Islam has gone too far in its resistance, and the readiness of its religious leaders to maintain their authority by encouraging children to be martyrs and by condoning blowing up school buses is of course heinous and primitive. On the other hand, we must know facts when we have a problem. The first fact is that the West is an unworkable system, and produces money and nice products at the expense of a satisfying personal and family life. Is it worth it? It is not, but the West cares only for money.

            The West emancipated blacks and the inner cities are factories of disease and ruined families, "babies having babies." The West emancipated women and for decades young intellectual women rallied behind NOW's leader Gloria Steinem when she declared "women need men like a fish needs a bicycle." Gloria Steinem married at the age of 67, to the consternation of her followers who had given their lives for her hate. The West has emancipated the gays, and allowed them to spread AIDS unhindered, even though the first to die were homosexuals. Today, the homosexual culture, after receiving billions of dollars for education and medical help, has a rising rate of AIDS. The West talks about tolerance and education, but when gay website www.usqueers.com threatened the lives of Ronald Reagan and leading conservatives on its website, the New York Times refused to publish the story, lest it hurt the gay cause.

            The West is a hideous sewer, growing more rancid with each passing day. Its filthy and harmful movies go throughout the world and teach people the glories of the worst of Western culture and social diseases. The ridicule of parents and clergy is an essential pillar of Western society, and wherever American money goes, those ideas come along for the ride.

            For the West to deal with religious people, with those who will not sell their family values, it must respect religious people and family, something far removed from the Western cultural and social sewage that floods the planet. Just as fire and water cannot mix, so people who despise religion and people who live by its creed cannot share the world. Toleration does not mean that we tell Moslems how to live. Our system has much to learn from Moslems, even though we have much to criticize as well. When we realize that money is not as important as G-d, then we can deal with the Moslems.

            The problem is deeper than dealing with Islam. The Taliban Walker came from a wealthy American family. He had everything the West could offer, including divorced parents, and in his desperate pain, he, like so many Moslems, chose the path of killing Westerners.
