Letter from Reverend Clayton D. Harriger David:
Just received your commentary -- very well done, and to the point.
Just some additional comments on my part -- when you mentioned China and American money bankrolling that nation with its
missiles pointed toward us, I made a comment some time in the past that our purchase of products made in China in effect means that we are providing the rope with which they hope to hang us!
I get extremely upset when I go to purchase an item and find it is made in China -- it is my habit now to check everything I buy to see where it has been made. Unfortunately, as you expressed, it seems some items you may want are only made in China and no where else.
Secondly, on Bush, whom I consider a great disappointment in many ways -- he has given some mouthings on abortion and has tried to go on record that he is opposed -- but all it has been is words and more words
-- where is an aggressive legislative agenda that says we have got to stop mass murdering our unborn children? It sure didn't take him long to aggressively pressure Congress to take action on things after 9-11, did it? But for the unborn, he apparently figures a few words spoken will pacify the anti-abortion crowd and that's all that is required -- I don't buy it, and consider it nothing short of hypocrisy!
Third, I for one am praying for Bush's meeting with Sharon on Tuesday -- particularly that Sharon will have the boldness to stand solid against any attempt on the part of Bush to pressure him into going along with Arafat
-- and I agree that Arab oil is a major factor in Bush's game plan -- who knows what all REALLY went on a few days ago when the big guy from Saudi Arabia visited Bush at his ranch!!
God's best to you always in every way through every day.
