Review of Surgeon General David Satcher's Call to Action to Promote Sexual Health and Responsible Sexual Behavior of July 9, 2,001
Dr. Satcher's Big Lie(s)
Rabbi David Eidensohn, director of the National Non-Sectarian Council of Pro-Family Activists, attacked Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher for falsifying science in order to promote homosexuality. Dr. Satcher, on July 9, 2,001, issued a Call to Action to Promote Sexual Health and Responsible Sexual Behavior, and said, "Sexual orientation is usually determined by adolescence, if not earlier (Bell et al, 1981), and there is no valid scientific evidence that sexual orientation can be changed (Haldeman, 1994; APA, 2000)."
Rabbi Eidensohn said, "Dr. Satcher declares that science denies that homosexuals can change, but Columba Professor Dr. Robert Spitzer proved that they can change, on May 9, 2,001. Is Dr. Satcher a doctor of disease, or does he doctor scientific data?" asked the rabbi. Dr. Satcher was condemned for quoting a study made in 2,000 and ignoring the latest evidence of May of this year. "Whereas Dr. Satcher surely knew of Dr. Spitzer's findings presented at the American Psychiatric Association and trumpeted in all news organs, we can only conclude that Dr. Satcher deliberately falsified science to promote homosexuality," said Rabbi Eidensohn."
Dr. Satcher, regarding HIV, said: "I would like to add a few words for the many thousands of persons living with HIV/AIDS in this country. We realize that you are not the enemy; that the enemy in this epidemic is the virus, not those who are infected with it."
Rabbi Eidensohn responded, "This is a lie. The enemy is not the virus, which is just a germ. The enemy is the Gay Lobby, for forcing public health doctors to refrain from stopping those human beings, people, who spread the disease by infecting others. Those who passed the HIV Confidentiality Laws are the enemy, not the virus. The Gay Lobby is the enemy, and Dr. Satcher does not even mention the HIV Confidentiality Laws, blaming instead biblical people for their wrong attitudes towards homosexuals, as if the problem is with the bible, not with those who deliberately infect people with the support of public health doctors like Dr. Satcher."
Dr. Satcher says : "Our culture often stigmatizes homosexual behavior, identity and relationships (Herek, 1993). These anti-homosexual attitudes are associated with psychological distress for homosexual persons and may have a negative impact on mental health, including a greater incidence of depression and suicide, lower self-acceptance and a greater likelihood of hiding sexual orientation (Gonsiorek, 1982; Ross, 1985; Ross, 1990; Greene, 1997; Remafedi, 1998). Although the research is limited, transgendered persons are reported to experience similar problems. In their extreme form, these negative attitudes lead to antigay violence. Averaged over two dozen studies, 80 percent of gay men and lesbians had experienced verbal or physical harassment on the basis of their orientation, 45 percent had been threatened with violence, and 17 percent had experienced a physical attack (Berrill, 1992). '
"In other words, whose fault is it that we have sexual problems? That's right, the biblical people," said Rabbi Eidensohn. "Is Dr. Satcher a doctor of disease, or does he doctor data?
"The Call to Action is really a Call to Promote Homosexuality and radical sexual forms," said Rabbi Eidensohn. "The terrible problems society suffers because of the secular sexual agenda are blamed on biblical people. The Big Lie goes further and claims that if we give the gays more power, the sexual suffering of Americans will improve. In other words, biblical hate cause sexual suffering in America, and by empowering the Gay Lobby, suffering will cease. Is this true?"
Dr. Satcher declared that our sexual problems, affecint 12 million persons a year are:
"Who is responsible for these problems, the Gay Lobby or the biblical people?" said Rabbi Eidensohn. "Let us take the items one by one. First of all, we have STDs infect approximately 12 million persons each year. Who is responsible for this? Obviously, the radical sexual lobby teaches us to act according to our whims and it brings about such disease, not biblical and family people. Seconly, we have almost a million people with HIV or AIDS. Who is responsible for this? The Gay Lobby is responsible. It passed the HIV Confidentiality Laws that prevented public health officials from stopping the epidemic. How then can Dr. Satcher blame biblical people for sexual problems and not blame the Gay Lobby for the Confidentialtiy Laws and, mainly, irresponsible behavior. It is the Gay Lobby attitude, that sex is something we do because we feel like it, rather than the biblical attitude that sex is a holy matter, that causes HIV, AIDS and STDs.
"Dr. Satcher complains about over a million abortions in one year. Is this the fault of the biblical community or does it come about because of the secular and radical sexual community, which teaches that men,women and babies are things and we do what we feel like doing. Dr. Satcher complains about the one half of pregnancies that are unintended. Whose fault is that, the biblical people or the secular sexualists? Dr. Satcher complains that over one in five women are forced to commit a sexual act. Is this the fault of biblical people, who teach that forcing a woman to have sex will be punished by G-d, or is it the fault of the secular people who think that women are things to be enjoyed, one way or the other.
"Dr. Satcher tells us that over a hundred thousand children are victims of sexual abuse each year. Is this the fault of biblical people who honor children, or is it the fault of the Gay Lobby that fights for intergenerational sex and lowered ages of sexual consent?
"Dr. Satcher inveighs against AIDS, but he does not mention the finding of the Center for Disease Control and mainstream medicine that HIV Confidentiality Laws produced the AIDS epidemic. How can the Surgeon General issue a report on AIDS and neglect to mention this main factor? Why does he not call for public health doctors to treat AIDS and HIV like every other infectious disease? Why does he not speak out against New York State for not listing either HIV or AIDS on their infectious disease list?
"It is no wonder, of course, when we see who the main editor and "special advisor" of this report it. It is Eli Coleman, the attack dog of the Gay Lobby. With such a staff, utterly negating the principle of hearing alternative opinions, that Dr. Satcher wages war, not against HIV, but against biblical people. He then, without any shame, utters calls for "unity" and even mutters some nice words about families. The underlying soul of this paper is Eli Coleman's antipathy for traditional values, and his vociferous efforts on behalf of radical sexuality."
Dr. Satcher says that, "More than one-half of the programming on television has sexual content…Significant proportions of music videos and Hollywood movies also portray sexuality or eroticism…" Rabbi Eidensohn contrasted this with Dr. Satcher's conclusion that "it is still inadequate to make the link between media and sexual behavior."
"The Call to Action is a call to: 'Don't blame the Gay Lobby that is spreading disease, don't blame the media that is inspiring people to have sexual problems, and don’t blame a culture dominated by the kind of negative verities espoused by Dr. Satcher and his special adviser, Dr. Coleman," said Rabbi Eidensohn. "The Call to Action is against Biblical people and their ideas."
