Child molestation is a big problem. The author has written about it in his Hebrew work, "KEDUSHAS BAYIS NE'EMAN." There is no city block without a child molestor. They come in all ages and professions. You must be aware and learn how to caution your children. We present here some articles by the author. One article is about summer, the worst month for child molesting. Another article is about the effects of child molesting on the person when he grows up. How do we identify the child molester and protect our children without infringing upon the rights of the innocent? Read "Identifying the molesters." Child molestation is usually associated with adults, but children can be frightened by sexual aggressiveness from a playmate. Teach your children to assert themselves when confronted by predators of any age. Teach them the appropriate response. First, they must tell their parents immediately. I tell my little children to beware of the "piggy people," and they know what I mean. A Piggy person" once tried something with my son and my son ran right to me. I was out of the door in a flash and the piggy person just made it to his car and escaped. He won't come back. Secondly, children must not participate. They must be firm and refuse. Predators are usually not violent, they are seductive. If that doesn't work, they usually leave. If a child has succumbed for whatever reason, it is critical to build the child up, and make him feel good, and not guilty. This probably requires therapy. Be aware of the problem. Talk to your fellow-parents. You might be surprised what they will tell you. There is never too much knowledge about such things, nor is there ever too much teaching of the children about it. The key is to never allow a child to be somewhere alone with a person who might be a problem. You must know where your children are, and they must know that you know.
